Ladyslipper



This is one of the two Ladyslippers which grow wild in our backyard. It's a type of orchid which matures slowly and take years to bloom.

Just one more springtime joy which makes Groundhog Mountain such a wonderful and special place.

natural growing orchids as far north as you are. i didn't know that they could survive outside except in southern florida. how glorious for you.

This one is called "obuwik" in Polish. (you can try to pronounce that - obuvik) :)

I'd get down with a magnifying glass, and look inside the slipper - not always can we count on such good fortune.
