Dreams

I was reading my "Short History Of Confucian Philosophy" the other day and I came across the guy who had a dream he was a butterfly. He flew from flower to flower and up into the blue sky and rested in the green cool grass. When he awoke he wondered if he was a man dreaming he was a butterfly or a butterfly dreaming he was a man.

I had a dream the other night. I was running through our woods which appeared as they do at this time of year, the beagle sisters following close behind as the do and I saw a moose or maybe it was an elk come out of the rhododendron. That was it! The dream was me doing what I do normally except for the elk or moose or whatever it was.

I asked Wanda if I was still alive and she assured me I am.

Ah,great. That would be Chuang Tzu (Zhuang-zi) who had the whole butterfly mystical conundrum. Quite a man, and has influenced me quite a lot. Sounds like a nice dream you had. I love reading into dreams, and seem to have a knack of coming up with symbolic explanations for peoples bizzare dreams.

One my father had once, had him driving a double decker bus from the "top" floor for some reason. With a awkward steering wheel that never quite did what he wanted it to do, and not being able to see the road or the (sidewalk) properly, due to being on the top floor.

At the time,he was under a lot of pressure at work, and I suggested that the bizzare scenario of driving on the "top" floor of the double decker bus symbolized that he had great responsibility for other people beneath him at work. The difficulty in steering the whole thing was the pressure and decision making, and not being able to see the road or pedestrians, was the uncertainty of what was coming next or the effect his choices would have on other people.

When I put that in the context of what was going on at work, he bought it anyway (LOL). As for yours, I couldn't really say unless I knew you more as a person I guess.

Could you have been one of the beagles, dreaming that the moose they were chasing was a man? I'll have to work on this interpretation a but more. ec

I was just happy to find out I was still alive, Ally.

Wow, Alexander, I have some dreams for you. This one is pretty normal. I usually have really WEIRD ones which seemly have no connection with anything. Next time I'll post about the strange stuff.

That's me, Mrs. L. a loose moose and dingy kingy. (I can't believe I said that)

Mr. E, who knows. At least there weren't bears or dinosaurs involved.

I often dream that I am a animal and then converse with my human form.
I have to get up and do something human like brush my teeth before the dim residue of the dream goes away completely.
